Well, the ink brigade has arrived: We had a short write-up in the Santa Cruz Sentinel, which also made its way to the San Jose Mercury News, since both papers are part of the same MediaNews family. Nathan Ichtertz did a pretty good job of taking the metric tons of info I threw at him — God only knows what Ken said to him (ha ha) — and David Eisenberg, a FOSS advocate from over the hill who will be representing OpenOffice, also did a good job of describing FOSS in one paragraph.
While I’m looking for some bounce here, I’m also at the Farmers Market today handing out fliers and talking up the news du jour, and frankly I’m looking forward to getting away from the phone for a couple of hours (yes, we’ve gotten quite a few calls . . . ).
As promised, we have some window posters that are being distributed in essentially four flavors — two English and two Spanish. I say “four” because there are two versions each: A Tux version in English and Spanish as well as the Tux-with-chainsaw version (which, incidentally, I left on the desktop at work, and will have to post later). I also have versions in Gernan (“Sprechen sie Penguin?”) as well as French (“Voulez-vous Penguin?”) and Japanese as well. Those, of course, are not being distributed unless requested, but the English and Spanish are already out there.
79 and sunny.
