During the course of Lindependence, I have been corresponding with Ercole Carpanetto, who blogs as Ercolinux (and if you can read Italian, you’re welcome to read his blog. Shoot, even if you don’t speak Italian, it’s worth a visit anyway — especially since Ercole and I have the same taste in WordPress styles). Early on, Ercole translated the Declaration of Lindependence into Italian on his blog — no small feat — and has been preparing his own Lindepencence-like project.
Ercole is putting on Mappano Linux Days in his home town in Italy over a weekend late in September. That is great in and of itself, except Ercole’s action leads up to a much larger project in Italy a month later called Linux Day 2008.
That’s Lindependence times 100, since about 100 towns in Italy are doing essentially the same thing that we did in Felton, and will do soon on Boulder Creek, Portland and now possibly in Taos, New Mexico.
Go Italia!

Thanks for the nice post about the Mappano Open Days: as soon as I’ve new I’ll inform you
cheers
